Elgin Pre-school is ...

A non-profit making organisation with a charitable status. We are supported by Westminster Childrens Early Years team and are a member of the Eary Years alliance.

We are a warm and friendly group and have been described as a home from home learning environment by many of our past and present parent.

The Manager holds a diplomas in Childcare and education to level 4 and all practitioners hold diplomas in Childcare and education to level 3. All staff hold full and current paediatric first aid training including the treatment of severe allergy reaction - anaphylaxis.

We have a designated SENDCo for any special needs and a sensory room.

All Children will be assigned a named key person who will be that special contact for you and your Child. The key person will support a settling in period for each individual Child. We use a 6 week time frame for this however, some Children may need longer and some will settle very quickly. During this time the key person will be making judgements through observations, notes from home and the Childs voice to begin the starting points for their learning journey. You will be kept informed of the outcomes and consulted on how we will provide the learning environment best suited for your Child.

Elgin pre-school has been established for over 50 years and have seen generations of the same families come and go. The current premises have been occupied since 2019  and we have a modern purpose built environment in which we offer and deliver quality and affordable Childcare.

We have a large single playroom, quiet/sensory room,  rainbow sensory play room, kitchen and toilets, changing room, offices and direct access to a fully enclosed outside play space

We have an open door policy which means you can come in and speak to us at any time. We do however have a very busy environment and it may be necessary at times to make an appointment for any non-pressing matters.

We are inspected by Ofsted and our last inspection September  2022 earned us a 'good' grade. You can view our inspection here:   https://reports.ofsted.gov.uk/inspection-reports/find-inspection-report/provider/CARE/135034
